DARLINGTON, S.C. – Jeff Gordon started Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Darlington Raceway by making one milestone – his 700th career start – and ended the 367-lap event inching closer to another one. The driver of the No. 24 Cromax Pro Chevrolet SS scored the third-place result on Saturday to record his 300th career top-five finish. He needs one more top-five result to match Hall of Famer David Pearson for third on the all-time list.

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished inside the top 17 on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, despite two major on-track incidents and a lengthy rain delay that pushed the close of the 188-lap event well into dusk. Johnson finished fifth, Gordon 11th and Earnhardt 17th, while their Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kasey Kahne was scored 42nd after being involved in the first multi-car incident.

RICHMOND, Va. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. recorded his 12th top-10 finish at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night. The driver of the No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet SS posted a 10th-place result, while his Hendrick Motorsports teammates finished inside the top 21. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson finished 11th and 12th, respectively, while Kasey Kahne was involved in a late-race incident and crossed the finish line 21st.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kasey Kahne chased leader Matt Kenseth as the laps wound down on Sunday at Kansas Speedway and narrowed the gap to a fraction of a second. But the driver of the No. 5 Farmers Insurance 85th Anniversary Chevrolet SS was unable to find a successful line and took runner-up honors in the 267-lap NASCAR Sprint Cup event.

He was joined in the top 16 by his Hendrick Motorsports teammates – Jimmie Johnson finished third, while Jeff Gordon took 13th and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was scored 16th.
